Sloppy Sue Sliders Recipe

Makes: 9 sliders | Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. (11oz/ 9 ct.) Hawaiian sweet pretzel rolls

  • 2 c. shredded cheese blend, divided

  • 1 lbs. ground beef

  • ½ c. chopped onion

  • 1 can (14 ½ oz.) diced tomatoes

  • ½ T. honey mustard

  • ½ T. Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Glaze

  • ½ c. butter

  • 1 T. brown sugar

  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 T. honey mustard

Let's Get Started!

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees; separate and arrange bottom half of pretzel rolls in a

greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle rolls with ½ cup of cheese. Bake 3 minutes or until

cheese is melted.

Step 2: In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onions over medium heat until onions are tender,

and beef is no longer pink. Stir in diced tomatoes, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and

pepper. Cook and stir until mixture is warmed throughout, about 2 minutes.

Step 3: Spoon beef mixture evenly over rolls; then sprinkle with remaining cheese. Replace

pretzel roll tops.

Step 4: For glaze, in a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce

and honey mustard. Microwave on high until butter is melted, stir occasionally. Pour over rolls.

Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until heated throughout.

Jazz It Up!

Proteins

Try switching up the proteins to experiment with new flavors:

  • Ground Turkey: a leaner option compared to beef, ground turkey is lighter but still offers a savory taste-a great choice for those seeking a lower-fat alternative without compromising on flavor

  • Ground Chicken: brings a milder flavor than beef & absorbs the flavors of the sauce and spices well, providing a lighter twist on these Sloppy Sues

  • Plant-Based Alternatives: tofu, tempeh & other options work wonderfully to create vegetarian or vegan versions. They mimic the texture of ground meat & absorb flavors excellently.

Slides

One way to jazz up how you serve Sloppy Sue Sliders is with some yummy sides:

  • Coleslaw: creamy coleslaw with a tangy dressing can add a refreshing crunch & contrast to the rich flavors of these sloppy sue sliders

  • Pickles: sliced dill pickles or bread-and-butter pickles can provide a zesty, acidic contrast

  • Roasted Veggies: bell peppers, zucchini, or eggplant slices offer a flavorful, healthy twist

  • Fried Onion: crispy fried onions add a delightful crunch &a touch of sweetness complementing the savory nature of the Sloppy Sue Sliders

Storing Sloppy Sue Sliders

  • Fridge: allow the sliders to cool down to room temperature. Store them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in foil or plastic wrap. Place them in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, reheat in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10-15mins on a baking sheet. Consider covering with foil to prevent them drying out in the oven.

  • Freeze: cover & freeze Sloppy Sue Sliders. To serve: thaw sliders in refrigerator overnight and remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake sliders as until heated throughout and cheese is melted
