Bacon Jam Deviled Eggs Recipe

Prep: 10 mins. Cook Time: 30 mins.  Serves: 24 halves

Deviled Eggs

  • 12 large eggs

  • 1/3 c. mayonnaise

  • 2 T. Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt

  • 1/2 tsp. Cajun seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp. season salt

  • 1/2 tsp. sugar

  • 1 T. sweet relish juice

  • paprika, for garnishing

Bacon Jam

  • 16 oz. bacon, one package

  • 1 small onion, finely diced

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/3 c. maple syrup

  • ¼ c. brown sugar

  • 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp. Cajun seasoning

Let's Get Started!

Deviled Eggs

1. Place eggs in a medium pot and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil, then cover the pot with the lid and turn off the heat. Let the eggs cook, covered for 15 minutes. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and let them chill for 15 minutes. (This step makes the eggs easier to peel)

2. Peel eggs and slice in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a small bowl. Mix together the egg yolks, mayo, Dijon mustard, celery salt, sugar, and relish juice until smooth.

3. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the egg mixture into each egg. Sprinkle eggs with paprika, then garnish with the bacon jam.

Bacon Jam

1. Place bacon in a nonstick skillet. Cook on a medium heat for 7-10 minutes or until bacon starts to crisp up. Use a slotted spoon to remove it and place it on a paper towel to drain. Remove all but 1 Tbsp of bacon grease from the pan.

2. Using the same skillet, add onions to the bacon grease. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until translucent.

3. Add in bacon, maple syrup, brown sugar, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and remaining seasonings to the skillet. Mix well to combine and simmer over a medium to low heat for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture should begin to reduce and thicken (add more water if it is too thick or add a little more brown sugar/maple syrup if it too loose).

4. Set mixture aside and allow it to cool, it will thicken as it cools down. Once slightly cooled, top the deviled eggs.*Bacon jam can also be used on your burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches.

Store in a mason jar or a plastic container with a lid and refrigerate. It will stay fresh for 4 days.

Jazz It Up!

  • Spicy Twist: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce to the egg mixture for heat

  • Smoky Flavor: Use smoked paprika or chipotle seasoning in the deviled eggs

Garnishes: try herbs like parsley, dill, or chives for added brightness

How to Serve

  • Classic Platter: Arrange deviled eggs on a large serving platter with fresh herbs or greens for garnish

  • Individual Portions: Serve each deviled egg in a mini cupcake liner for easy grabbing and a polished look

  • Charcuterie Board Addition: Include deviled eggs on a charcuterie board alongside cheeses, crackers, and cured meats

  • Vegetable Bed: Place eggs on a bed of shredded lettuce, arugula, or thinly sliced cucumbers for extra freshness

  • Elevated Serving Dish: Use a tiered cake stand or egg tray to create a visually appealing display.

  • Cocktail Pairing: Serve alongside a signature cocktail at a party, creating a curated pairing experience.
